Types of Alerts

WebCam Monitor supports different activities that are either Motion/Noise Activated or Periodically Activated. These activities are referred to as "Alerts".

Supported Alerts

WebCam Monitor supports these Alerts:

• Video/Audio Recording: This is the most frequently used Alert. It enables you to configure the WebCam Monitor to record video or audio footage. Recordings are saved as Windows Media Formats (WMV or WMA).
  • Recording Video/Audio on Motion/Noise Detection
  • Recording Video/Audio Periodically (at regular intervals)
• Take Photos: This is also a fairly frequently used type of Alert. The Take Photo Alert enables you to capture live images. Captured images (photo photos) are saved as JPEG files.
  • Taking Photos on Motion/Noise Detection
  • Taking Photos Periodically (at regular intervals)
• E-mail Notification: This Alert e-mails you with an embedded photo. If you have instant access to an internet enabled PC, you can keep yourself informed by periodically checking your e-mail from anywhere. You can also configure E-mail Notification Alert to send a SMS message.
  • E-mail Notification on Motion/Noise Detection
  • Sending E-mail Notification Periodically (at regular intervals) mails
• Sound Alarm: A classic Alert, Sound Alarm, lets you specify a sound file. All popular audio file types like WAV, MP3 etc. are supported.
  • Sounding An Alarm on Motion/Noise Detection
• Launch Program: You can use this alert to launch a program or script. This alert can help you extend WebCam Monitor for a specific requirement. If you want WebCam Monitor to perform operations other than the above mentioned alerts then you can write a program or script and specify it in this Alert.

  • Launch Program Periodically (at regular intervals)
