Antivirus Scan
Antivirus Scan function can be used to periodically check your safe for viruses. While the safe is open viruses can get inside and infect files, and periodically checks are strongly suggested for better security.
To scan a safe for viruses follow these steps:
- Select a safe from the Safes list
- Select the action: Antivirus Scan from the menu on the left side
- SafeBit will launch the your default Antivirus program
- Click OK when finished to close the safe.
To set the antivirus program open the Options window and fill in the corresponding box. Also in the parameters edit box make sure you include the correct command line parameters and the <drive> tag. This tag will be replaced by SafeBit with the actual drive letter when scanning the safe.
If the edit box for the antivirus program is empty SafeBit will try to auto-detect your anti-virus program, so in case you change your program and want SafeBit to re-detect it, just delete what's in this box and open the Options window again.
SafeBit should detect the following antivirus programs: Norton Antivirus, McAfee Virus Scan, BitDefeder, Panda Antivirus, Kaspersky Antivirus. Because there are many versions of these programs, and each version has big differences from the other, SafeBit cannot guarantee detection, and you will have to manually select the antivirus program. |
