Run Reg Organizer from Command Line
Reg Organizer can be launched from command line using the following command line parameters:
-regclean
Start Reg Organizer in Automatic Registry Cleanup mode. All incorrect Registry keys and values will be deleted automatically. After the cleanup operation is complete Reg Organizer terminates automatically. You can specify which incorrect Registry keys to look for as well as what root Registry keys to search in using the command line parameters described below.
-k[n]
This parameter has effect if used together with regclean command only. This parameter specifies action to perform listed under the number n of line in Select the Registry problems to scan for list located in the Automatic Registry Cleanup window.
Example:
As you can see, the Select the Registry problems to scan for list contains the following entries:
- Invalid extensions.
- References to non-existent files and folders in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.
- References to non-existent files and folders in HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
- etc.
So, if you would like to automatically clean up incorrect extensions (1st item in the list), use the following command:
organizer.exe -regclean -k[1]
In order to clean up references to non-existent files and folders in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER root key enter:
organizer.exe -regclean -k[3]
You can use scheduling software in order to start Reg Organizer with command line parameters automatically on given time or system event. After Reg Organizer starts it will clean up all specified keys and exit automatically. |
