Registry Defragment

In this section, you analysis the registry files and defragment the files to improve the system performance.

Registry files selection:

"Software", "System", "Default", and "User" correspond to the four major registry files in Windows system, and represent for the most useful branches in registry.

By select from these four files and click "Analysis", you will see the fragment details of the registry file.

On the left side, the graph shows the fragments allocation of the selected registry file. The highlighted blocks represent the fragments of the registry file, the other blocks represent the whole drive. In this graph, we can clearly find out if there are more than one fragments for a registry file. If all highlighted blocks are consecutive, that means the registry file is in good performance, we do not need to defragment it. On the other hand, if there are 2 or more non-consecutive highlighted blocks, that means the selected registry file is fragmented. When program operates this file, the seeking process may take longer time and more resource; therefore, we'd better defragment this file to obtain better performance.

On the right side, you can see the detail fragment statistic of the selected registry file. including the cluster allocation of each fragment and if you need defragment for this file.

If the selected registry file contains more than one fragment, the "Defragment" button will be enabled, and then you may click it to defragment the registry file.

We recommend you close all the other running programs before doing the defragment.
