Captions with IPTC Data
IPTC data is a coding system that attaches information to an image. IPTC was created for press photographers, to give them a way to attach information to electronic images. It is a standardized way to store details such as who took the picture, where it was taken, and many other complex details.
Power Print is compatible with IPTC. If your images have IPTC values attached, Power Print can read them and apply their information to image captions using the Auto Text function in the Text Editor.
To see any IPTC values attached to an image, go to the View Item Information screen; right-click on the image and select View Image Information, and all the data attached to that image is shown, including IPTC data.
The following IPTC values are supported by name:
- 2:15 Category
- 2:20 Supplemental Category
- 2:25 Keywords
- 2:80 By-line
- 2:85 By-line Title
- 2:90 City
- 2:92 Sublocation
- 2:95 Province/State
- 2:100 Country/ Primary Location Code
- 2:101 Country/Primary Location Name
- 2:105 Headline
- 2:110 Credit
- 2:115 Source
- 2:116 Copyright Notice

- Value - The value for the parameter. For example, Labour Day 2006.
