Calendar, Posters & Cards
Create and Edit Calendars
A Calendar is a document that includes an image and a calendar grid. Yearly calendars have one page with a 12-month calendar grid. Monthly calendars have 12 pages with a grid for one month on each page of the calendar.
Instructions
- To create a Calendar, use the Calendar Wizard to create your base calendar file.
- To edit a calendar, right-click it and select Edit Calendar.
- In the Edit Calendar screen, you can edit what displays in the calendar grid:
- Choose a design Scheme
- Edit the month and year
- Add and delete special events such as birthdays or anniversaries
- To edit the following items, click the Advanced check box at the bottom of the screen:
- Set colors, fonts, and alignment for text in your calendar grids
- Apply background colour and shading for the calendar grid
- You can apply changes to all calendar grids in your document by checking Update All Calendars.
- To save the appearance and features of your calendar grid, click the Save icon. You will be prompted to give your Calendar Scheme a name. It is saved in Pics Print and you can select it in the future.
Create Posters from an Image
A Poster is an image sized to fit on more than one sheet of paper.
Instructions
- To create a poster either use the Poster Wizard or create a new document.
- In the Options User Interface screen, ensure that 'Simplified Interface' is not checked.
- Using the Multiple Sheets command (Page Menu or
on the Page Toolbar), choose the number of sheets of paper that your poster-sized image will use.
- Change the layout to the Auto Layout of Full Page. Other layouts are possible, but this is the easiest.
NOTE: Some smoothing and interpolition is applied when the Poster size image is printed. However, posters have a lower DPI and quality than smaller images. Viewing the poster from further away, does it really matter?
Create and Edit Greeting Cards
A Greeting Card is a two-page document, with a feature image and text on one page, and text on the other. One page provides the front of the card, and the text-only page is the inside of the card.
Instructions
- To create a Greeting Card, use the Greeting Card Wizard.
- To edit a Greeting Card, click on the image or text, and edit using standard Power Print functions.
Save Documents and Edited Images
To save a document:
- Go to the File menu and select Save or Save As. Save As will prompt you to enter a file name before saving.
The .pprint file will contain a copy of the images used. This file can therefore become very large.
To save an edited image:
- When you make changes to the image in the Image Editor, click the Save icon. The changes are saved directly to the main image file.
Printing Documents
- From the File menu, you can select the printer for Power Print documents, and change the way that printer is set up.
- To print documents from your default printer, go to the File menu, click Print.
- If you want to choose a specific printer, go to the File menu and choose Select Printer.
- To add a new Printer to your list of available printers, go to the File menu and choose Select Printer. Then, choose the option Refresh Printer List.
