Working with Games
ReportCD helps you to manage your games collection. To Display the games collection, select the view games (menu Views | games). By selecting a game in the list, you can see its properties in the bottom panel.
Add a new game in the collection
You have two differents manners to add a game in the collection :
- Add a game from a disk image that is already scanned : You can add a game which is stored in a disk image. This is useful when you want to link your game with your disk information. In the Catalog view, select a file, a folder or a disk on which you want to perform the action. Then right-click and select Add as... | game and the game dialog opens (you can see that the path field & the title field are already filled). Fill all the other fields and click on Save to save the document.
- Add a game without link to a disk image : Select the view games and click on the menu Database | Add... | game. The game dialog opens. Fill all the fields and click on Save to save the document.
Update a game
- If you want to update a game, select the game in the Tree window or in the List window, rigth-click and select Modify. The game dialog opens and you change the properties of the game. Click on Save to save the changes.
Search for games
To search for games, select the view Game (menu View | Games) and click on Search. The search window opens with the tab Games selected.
You can specify differents criteria and combine them :
- Title
- Version
- Style
- Language
- Year
- Contains a picture or not
When the search is done, you will see the list of the games found. You can modify their properties and locate the files in the catalog.
Export games collection
ReportCD can export games in 2 formats :
- ASCII : to export the games collection in a text file, with a tabular separator for columns.
- XML : To export the games collection in a XML file, with an optional link with a stylesheet file (that can modified).
To export the game collection, first select the view games and then click on menu File | Export and select the format to use. |
