Media Scan Options
In this section, you can define media scan settings when scanning disks images in the catalog :
MP3 tab

Saving MP3s files in the database. If the option is checked, the program will automatically save in the database files with .mp3 extension. ReportCD will extract music properties from the MP3 file (reads ID3 v1 & v2 tags), such as singer, title, album,... Data will be visible in the MP3 view.
Save 20 seconds of music : if this options is activated, ReportCD will extract approximately 20 seconds of music, and save it in the database. You can then play the beginning of the title when selecting the file in the MP3 view.
Note : This option can considerably increase the time for scanning the media. Moreover, this option will increase the size of the database file !
If the file already exists, always save MP3 file : when scanning a media, if the MP3 file being scanned already exists in the database, ReportCD will save it again in the database.
Always ask before saving if the file already exists : if ReportCD detects that the MP3 file being scanned already exists in the database, the program will ask the user to confirm to save the file or not in the database.
Don't save file if it's already exists : if ReportCD detects that the MP3 file being scanned already exists in the database, the program won't save the file in the database.
Thumbnails tab

Imports thumbnails : if this option is checked, ReportCD will extract thumbnails from picture files, and will be saved in the catalog. You can easily preview your pictures files in the catalog.
You can specify the size of the thumbnails : bigger it is and bigger will be the thumbnail, but scanning huge picture files with the biggest size will slow down the scan. Moreover, it will also increase the size of the catalog file.
To specify which files to process, check recongnized formats, and the program will extract thumbnails for these files when scanning a media.
Compressed files tab

Scan for compressed files : if the option is checked, ReportCD will extract and save in the catalog, the structure of the compressed file. You will able to see in the catalog the structure of the files and folders stored in the archive files.
You can also import thumbnails from compressed files : when scanning an archive file, if this option is checked, and if the option Imports thumbnails is checked too, then ReportCD will extract thumbnails from compressed picture files stored in the archive file being scanned (process only checked picture formats in the tab Thumbnails).
Note : Importing structure of compressed files can increase the size of the catalog file, and also considerably slow down the scan process.
To specify compressed files to process, check recognized formats by ReportCD, in order that the program process these files when scanning a media.
Description tab

Save file description : if checked, this option is used to extract descriptions from files and save them in the disk image. For example, if ReportCD is scanning a movie file, the program can extract technical properties (such as audio stream, compression rate,...).
To specify compressed files to process, check recognized formats by ReportCD, in order that the program process these files when scanning a media.
