Connection
Use the Tools > Default Options menu or the Options icon on the Navigationbar, and go to the Connection page to select the settings below.
- Max concurrent connections per site - Connections include browse and transfer sessions. Some servers only allow one connection per site.
Passive Mode - Checking off this option will enable a passive mode connection. Without passive mode, the FTP server establishes a connection to your computer for transfers. With passive mode enabled, you establish a connection to the server for transfers. Passive mode should be enabled when a firewall type is selected or if you can't accept inbound connections.
Use UTF-8 if possible - Checking off this option will enable using UTF-8 (Unicode) in transmission. Not all servers support UTF-8.
Ipv6 support - Checking off this option will enable using Ipv-6 instead of Ipv4. The main change brought by IPv6 is a much larger address space that allows greater flexibility in assigning addresses.
Use the local port from the following range for active connection - Enable this if your Firewall only allows applications to use a specific port range. If all ports within the specified range are already in use or if your firewall blocks applications from using these ports, you won't be able to connect to any ftp server behind your firewall.
Use the following IP for active connection - Enable this if the program behind a router fails to detect the IP address for active connection, you can specify the IP address here.
Number of retries specifies how many times the connection or transfer attempts will repeat.
Delay option will pause the specified number of seconds before trying to connect again.
Timeout option will stop the connection or transfer after the specified seconds.
Keep Alive
Use the Tools > Default Options menu or the Options icon on the Navigationbar, and go to the Connection > Keep Alive page to select this setting.
Most FTP connections will time out if you have been idle for too long. If you check off the Enable Keep Alive option, ConcordFTP will send Keep Alive commands to simulate activity and prevent the FTP server from disconnection due to inactivity. You can enter the frequency of Keep Alive commands by entering the time interval. However, some servers use no-transfer timeouts will still time you out if you are idle for too long.
