Advanced Scheduling

You can use the ConcordFTP Scheduler to schedule transfers to run at specified time. In addition, you can schedule transfers without logging in your user account. To access the ConcordFTP Scheduler, use the Tools > Show User Scheduling menu or right click the ConcordFTP tray icon. You can turn the Scheduler on or off by using the toggle Tools > Start Using Scheduler or Tools > Stop Using Scheduler menu. When the Scheduler is stopped, any pre-scheduled transfer task will stop running. They will automatically run again when you turn the Scheduler back on. To see the scheduled jobs for the system session, use the Tools > Show System Scheduling menu.

The left panel of the Scheduler lists all the scripts. Each script runs at a specified time. There can be multiple tasks listed. When the Scheduler is active, its left panel is grayed out. You can review and edit the scripts and tasks when the Scheduler is paused. Click the Pause Scheduler button on the Scheduler toolbar to pause it. Then right click on the script and select Properties to review or edit the script. You need to click the Resume Scheduler button to restart the Scheduler.

The right panel lists the tasks. Each task has additional options, such as to wait before starting the next task, to cancel after specified elapsed time, or to cancel script in case of task cancellation. You can click the Pause Scheduler button on the Scheduler toolbar, then right click the task and select Properties to review or edit the scheduled task.

Advanced Scheduling, Pause Scheduling

You can use the Pause Scheduler Toolbar Icon Pause Scheduler or the File > Pause menu to turn the Scheduler off-line so you can review and edit the script. If you have set up the ConcordFTP tray icon in the Tools > Default Options menu, it will indicate that the Scheduler is paused Schedular Paused.

Advanced Scheduling, Resume Scheduling

If you have paused the Scheduler to review or edit the scripts and tasks, you can use the Resume Scheduler Toolbar Icon Resume or the File > Resume menu to turn the Scheduler back on-line. If you have set up the ConcordFTP tray icon in the Tools > Default Options menu, it will indicate that the Scheduler is on-line On.

Advanced Scheduling, Add a New Schedule (Script)

  1. Pause the Scheduler by using the Pause Scheduler Toolbar Icon Pause Scheduler or the File > Pause menu.
  2. Highlight the Script in the left pane and click on the Add Toolbar Icon Add Toolbar, right click or use the Edit > Add menu to add a new script.
  3. You can choose one of the options for when to start the script: One Time Only, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Windows Startup, Hourly, or in Minutes intervals. You can specify starting date and time, and end date. For Daily, you can specify every n days or transfer on weekdays only. For Weekly, you can specify every n weeks and the day of the week. For Monthly, you can specify the month and the day in the month. For Hourly, you can specify every n hours with options to include Windows Startup and on weekdays only. For Minutes intervals, you can enter the frequency in minutes and also with options to include Windows Startup and on weekdays only.
  4. Resume the Scheduler by using the Resume Scheduler Toolbar Icon Resume Scheduler or the File > Resume menu to put the Scheduler back on-line.

Modify a Schedule (Script)

  1. Pause the Scheduler by using the Pause Scheduler Toolbar Icon Pause Scheduler or the File > Pause menu.
  2. Highlight the specific script you want to modify, click the Properties Toolbar Icon Properties Toolbar, or use the Edit > Properties menu.
  3. You can choose one of the options for when to start the script: One Time Only, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Windows Startup, Hourly, or in Minutes intervals. You can specify starting date and time, and end date. For Daily, you can specify every n days or transfer on weekdays only. For Weekly, you can specify every n weeks and the day of the week. Remove a Schedule (Script)

  1. Pause the Scheduler by using the Pause Scheduler Toolbar Icon Pause Scheduler or the File > Pause menu.
  2. Highlight the specific script you want to remove, and use the Edit > Remove menu to remove it.
  3. Resume the Scheduler by using the Resume Scheduler Toolbar Icon Resume Scheduler or the File > Resume menu to put the Scheduler back on-line.

Put Schedules (Scripts) in Order

  1. Pause the Scheduler by using the Pause Scheduler Toolbar Icon Pause Scheduler or the File > Pause menu.
  2. Highlight the specific script you want to move, and use the Edit > Move Up or Down menu to move it accordingly.
  3. Resume the Scheduler by using the Resume Scheduler Toolbar Icon Resume Scheduler or the File > Resume menu to put the Scheduler back on-line.

Add a New Task into a Schedule (Script)

  1. Pause the Scheduler by using the Pause Scheduler Toolbar Icon Pause Scheduler or the File > Pause menu.
  2. Click a specific script and click anywhere in the right panel, click on the Add Toolbar Icon , or use the Edit > Add menu to add a new task.
  3. For each task, you can enter description, program or command, parameters or data (such as application switch and script), starting folder, and starting windows style.
  4. For advanced options, you can choose to have the Scheduler to wait for this task to finish before starting the next one if any. You can also specify time-out limit for the task. If the task cannot complete within the time limit, you have the option to stop the task and cancel the script.
  5. Resume the Scheduler by using the Resume Scheduler Toolbar Icon Resume Scheduler or the File > Resume menu to put the Scheduler back on-line.
