glShopper: Backup database option creates back up copies of databases

Backup Database

The glShopper backup function is used to create backup copies of the database. Backup copies of the database should be made regularly in case of disk failures or file corruption.

To create a backup copy of the database, select the Backup option from the file menu.

Once selected a File Selection Box will be displayed:

Enter the name of the backup file you wish to create in the File name: box. NOTE: All glShopper database files will always end with a ".gdb" file extension. You do not need to include the dot extension when creating backup copies of the database. The ".gbd" file extension will automatically be assigned each time you perform a backup.

By default all new backup files will be created in your glShopper home directory. For archive copies you should always change the directory path to another drive letter, such as A: or a network drive. You can navigate the file system using the Look in: choice box or by entering the destination file in the File name: box. For example:
