Generate Tag from Filename

To generate tags from filenames select tag format which you want to write. To select format look at the top of the main window. You will see two buttons on the main toolbar. Press appropriate button to set ID3 format.

To use this tool you should:

1) Set values for ID3 fields. Use variables "%1"-"%9" or natural values like "The best album";
2) Set separators list in which values are separated by colons. Example: "_-_: - :. ";
3) Check capitalization, appropriate option for spaces, action for existing tags, etc.;
4) Press the "Generate" button. You will see a preview window displayed below:

You can adjust some values by double-clicking on a list entry;

5) Check entries which you want to process. By default all entries are checked.
6) Press the "Write Tags" button in the preview window.

Example:

We have tracks with names like "Artist_-_Album_-_Title.mp3". To use this tool set %1, %2, %3 values for Artist, Album and Title fields accordingly. Make sure you have value "_-_" in the separators list.
