Tag Clinic: FLAC options enable user to add pictures, texts and sets colorization

FLAC Options

Allow picture add in FLAC tags: When checked you can add pictures to FLAC tags. Use some discretion when enabling this feature because the addition of pictures to the FLAC techncal specification is a relatively new one, and not all Flac tag readers will know what to do when their presence is found a tag. Flac tags use the same padding size defined above for ID3v2 tags to determine how much padding space to include in a tag.

Fonts

Use these tools to adjust the size and appearance of fonts used to display data in respective lists within the program. Change font sizes by clicking the up/down arrow keys to the right of the text box showing the current font size. Select Bold or Regular font by clicking the small button to the left of a font-size box. To edit other font styles, or to select a different font, click one of the font buttons beneath these tools to bring up a standard Windows font dialog box. Click the Apply Button on this dialog to both preview and apply your changes, then hit the OK Button to accept them.

Fixed Cells

Choose the appearance of row number and column header cells. Choosing Flat renders cells as plain, square, and gray with a dark outline. Choosing 3-D Plain produces cells with a gray, three-dimensional look. Choose 3-D Gradient for a three-dimensional look with color gradient added. The 3-D appearance may not be appropriate on some systems. On systems with slower video systems, excessive "flicker" may result when selecting cells when this attribute is active.

Grid Lines

Grid lines between Editor rows can be chosen as thick or thin or not present.

Colorization

Allows customization of font and other colors in the Main Editors:

Font

  • Filename Color: Choose font color for Filename column text.
  • Location Color: Choose font color for Location column text.
  • Year & Track Color: Choose font color for Year and Track column text.
  • Enable: Enable/disable font colorization.

Banding

  • Vertical: Enable vertical (column) color banding.
  • Horizontal: Enable horizontal (row) color banding.
  • Band 1 Color: Choose cell background color number 1. Applied to every-other column, if V Banding active, or every-other row, if H Banding active.
  • Band 2 Color: Choose cell background color number 2. Applied to columns not colored by Band 1, if V Banding active, or rows not colored by Band 1 colors, if H Banding active.
  • Enable: Enable/disable column/row color banding.
  • Row Selection Color: Choose color used to highlight selected rows.
  • Browser Background Color: Choose Browser background color.

Apply Windows' theme colors (Vista only): "Skins" the program, when checked, using current Windows' desktop theme colors. Primary skin color is taken from Inactive Caption color. Secondary, or gradient, color is generally white or cream. When unchecked, or the OS is not Windows Vista*, standard "button gray" is used as primary color, while white or cream is used as secondary.

Apply high contrast visual settings: This setting is primarily intended for the visually impaired while using Windows in High Contrast Visibility Mode. Among many other more subtle changes implemented by this option, large background areas that are normally plain white, such as in the Main Editor and most edit boxes, are reconfigured to pick up the primary window color that has been assigned by the OS. Many font colors are reassigned to the prevailing external window font color. If black text has been specified as the print color for tag lists, WYSIWYG print previews are shown using the text color assigned to window text by the OS, and not with black text. Actual printing, however, is done in black. Font Colorization, Banding, and 3-D Grid Gradient options (above) are automatically turned off when this option is enabled, since they are typically not desirable when using high contrast mode, but they can be re-enabled manually if desired. The color used to highlight selected rows is set to olive green, but may be changed using the Row Selection Color option above.

Resets all colorization settings to default values.

Enable Editor folder nodes

When checked, files are grouped by location in the Editors, and a "folder node" column is added on the left on each editor page, with folder icons placed at the start of each group. Click a folder icon to collapse a file group down to a single line. Click it again to expand it. While folder nodes are active, files are maintained in groups by location while editing, sorting, renaming, etc. Tag synchronization is turned off whenever one or more folder nodes are collapsed, and the copying of tag data between ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags is not always allowed. Folder nodes are automatically expanded to accommodate some file operations, such as file renaming and file moving, and when the Rename Page or the Column Page is selected.

The folder node option can also be enabled or disabled just by double-clicking the top left-most cell on either Editor page. Node enable/disable, expand and collapse options are also available via popup menu by right-clicking the mouse anywhere on the first column.

Show Editor file icons

Check to prepend an identifying file-type icon (MP3, OGG, WMA, APE, AAC, FLAC, MPC, or VQF) to each file name in each file name column (not applicable to ID3v1 Editor page).

Show Browser file modified

Check to show the File Attributes column in the File Window. Uncheck to hide this column.

Show Browser file attributes

Check to show the File Modified column in the File Window. Uncheck to hide this column.
