Behavior
Show file stats for folders with over XXXX files: Statistics, such as total playtime, are automatically computed for files selected in the Browser and then displayed in the Status Bar. This is a relatively time consuming process and can introduce noticeable delays when selecting large numbers of files. Uncheck this option to disable statistic computations when folders contain more than the number of files shown here. You can click the small button to the right to adjust the file count threshold to a number between 100 and 99999.
Keep file's original timestamp after tag update: A file's date and time is automatically updated by the OS to reflect the current date and time when it is altered or updated. Check this box to have Tag Clinic keep a record of a file's original timestamp before a tag update is made, and have it restored afterwards.
Allow rename of read-only files: Check to enable the renaming of files marked as "read-only" on your file system. Uncheck to disallow the renaming of read-only files.
Show hidden folders: By default, folders marked as hidden by the OS are not shown in the Browser. Check this option to enable the listing of hidden folders. A change made to this setting is picked up when the Browser is next refreshed.
Right mouse click selects editor cell: Left-clicking a cell always causes the cell to be entered and its contents selected. Check this option to have a right-click do so as well. When this option is disabled, you must first left-click to select and enter a cell, then right-click it to bring up a context menu. When enabled, a single right-click performs these tasks in a single step.
Selecting a second row unselects the first row: Ordinarily, clicking on the row number of any Editor row selects that row and automatically adds it to the collection of selected rows. When this option is checked, however, this behavior is reversed. Clicking on the row number of any second row automatically dismisses selection of the first row and selects the second. Enabling this option can be useful when filename formats vary widely from row to row, forcing extraction of text from filename-to-tag a row at a time. This option only effects behavior when one row is selected in the Editor. Note that you can momentarily reverse the default behavior selected here by holding the Control Key depressed while selecting the second row.
Show popup menu hints in statusbar: When enabled, popup menu hints describing the function of context menu selections are displayed in the Statusbar as the mouse is passed over them.
Remove converted Media Jukebox frames: By default, Media Jukebox tag frames converted to Music Match frames are removed from a tag after the conversion process (if they do not contain data that wasn't converted). Check this option to have converted frames left in tags after they have been converted.
Allow each page to have its own Separator: The Separator used for file name constructions and file name-to-tag extractions can be specified on the Main Menu, the Main Editor's multi-tag popup menu, or on the Rename Page. By default, when you change it in one location, the change is propagated everywhere it's used. Checking this options allows a different Separator to be specified for each of the three primary pages that use it: the two Main Editor pages and the Rename Page.
Enable custom editor columns: Check to activate two user-defined data columns available in Editor 2. Click the small button on the right to edit the header text assigned to each. MP3, WMA, and APE (ID3v2 only) tag fields generated in these columns are stored in respective tags as User Text frames, with the header text used as the Description field content. Both custom columns are supported in MP3s, OGGs, APEs, and M4As, while one or the other column, but not both, is supported in WMA. OGG and M4A tag fields created have comment fields installed with header text used as the comment ID. Custom columns are not supported for VQF files.
Hide program while using main picture viewer: Check to have the main program removed from view while viewing images with the main Picture Viewer.
Interlock editor pages: When checked, the Main Editor will seek to maintain focus on the current file and keep it in view as you change from one Main Editor page to another.
Auto-refresh after scanning enabled/disabled: Check to have tags automatically re-read and edit lists refreshed whenever folder scanning is enabled or disabled with the Scanning Button on the top panel.
Auto-position subeditors: Check this option to have the program automatically position subeditors (the Comment Editor, User Text Editor, URL Editor, etc.) to the right or left of the column being edited, whenever possible.
Return to start row after using subeditor/viewer: Subeditors and image viewers can browse from row-to-row, tag-to-tag while being used. Check this option to have the program return the Main Editor's focus to the row that had focus when the subeditor or viewer was first executed.
Do previews when renaming via popup menu: By checking this option you can choose to preview proposed file name changes before files are actually renamed when using the "Rename " function on the Main Editor's context popup menu. When enabled, current and proposed file names are presented in a list for approval before renaming is performed. When unchecked, file renames via popup menu are performed immediately and without preview. Applies to renames via popup menu only; whole-folder renames performed on the Rename Page are always previewed.
Enable rename preview checkboxes: By default, a checkbox is shown for each proposed file name change in a Rename Preview, allowing you to remove or include specific files in the list from the pending rename process. Uncheck this option to disable the showing of list checkboxes.
Add 'Send To' link to system context menu: Add a link file "Tag Clinic.lnk" to the "Send To" section of the system context menu. When this link is present, you can select a file or folder in a file Browser, right-click it with the mouse, then choose the link from the context menu's "Send To" section to have TBR execute into a selected folder, or a selected file's location.
