The Pop-up manager enables you to view all Pop-ups that STOPzilla has blocked, to enable and disable Pop-up protection, and to fine-tune the type of protection you wish.
By default, Pop-up protection and all settings are On (enabled.) It is recommended that you leave the default settings for optimal protection. The Protection Status group box indicates whether Pop-up protection is enabled, and provides read-only displays of the Phishing Engine Version and Definition Version installed on your computer.
The Pop-up Settings group box enables you to configure specific protection parameters.
STOPzilla also enables you to create personal Blacklist and Whitelist. You can block or allow pop-ups from any domain for any reason.
Summary
The Pop-up Protection Summary is an overview of how you have configured STOPzilla to handle Pop-up windows.
Protection Status
Use the On and Off buttons to enable or disable Pop-up protection. By default, Pop-up protection is set to On. It is strongly recommended that you do not change this setting. For more information on disabling Pop-up protection, see Disabling Real-Time Protection.
Disabling Advanced Pop-Up Protection is NEVER recommended!
Black List
The Black List is a record of every attempt made by Pop-ups to access your system. This management tool provides you with the opportunity to view previously blocked Pop-ups or change the current status of a detected Pop-up.
Click Open Black List to view the Black List. For details about Black List functionality, please see: The Black List.
Settings
JavaScript Debugging and Errors settings are for developers with Java, (an object oriented programming language) installed on their computers. When STOPzilla blocks Pop-ups, it may interfere with JavaScript code running within a Web page. This may result in JavaScript errors being reported by the browser. Disabling JavaScript debugging and error alerts prevents these useless messages from being displayed. By default, JavaScript Debugging is ENABLED, and JavaScript Error Dialogs and Windows Messenger Service are DISABLED.
Disable JavaScript debugging: Leave this option cleared (unchecked) to bypass the Internet Explorer JavaScript Debugging option.
Disable JavaScript error dialogs: Leave this option selected (checked) to ignore JavaScript Error Dialogs associated with JavaScript debugging.
Disable Windows Messenger Service: Select (check) this option to prevent Windows Messenger Pop-ups from being displayed.
