Diagnostic Report
The Diagnostic Report is generated by the Diagnostic Scan under the supervision of a STOPzilla Customer Support representative. It is a detailed report on all of the software running on your system. This feature is used only when a Customer Support representative determines that there is some malicious software on your computer that STOPzilla is not blocking. The representative will assist you with the scan process.
When creators of Spyware and other malicious software unleash threats on the Internet-using public, there is always a latency period; the time between release and identification. STOPzilla researchers comb the Internet to discover new Spyware and other parasites. Sometimes, Spyware is identified when a user contacts STOPzilla and indicates that the product is not blocking a particular Pop-up or the computer is not performing as expected.
The Diagnostic Report is sent to STOPzilla Research as an e-mail attachment or by direct upload. Information captured from users' scans is incorporated into the Singularity Research database. Once a new piece of Spyware is targeted, the definitions (actions taken to detect and block this malicious program) are incorporated into the next update of STOPzilla. This way, no other STOPzilla subscriber ever need be bothered by it. The more scan results STOPzilla incorporates, the better we can serve our subscribers.
