Window Titles
This section allows you to manage a list of window titles AdvertisingCleaner should watch out for. If this option is enabled, AdvertisingCleaner will automatically close windows having titles that match the rules defined in this page.
Two lists are displayed in this window:
- The first list shows the titles of windows currently running. You can click the Refresh button to update this list.
- The second list shows the substrings AdvertisingCleaner is looking for in newly opened windows. A list of common patterns is delivered with the product and will be loaded by default. You can however edit this list however you want.
Adding new entries to the list:
You can add items here either by selecting an entry in the left window and clicking Add or by entering the title yourself.
Please note that you do not have to enter the exact or complete title.
e.g. : adding the entry "offe" will result in blocking any window that has a title like "Special Offer", "Offers", "offer!" - basically that contains the substring "offe".
Removing entries
Select one of the entries by clicking it. You should see its value in the WebSite URL field. You can now either edit it and click Change to save it or just click Delete to permanently remove it from the list.
Temporarily un-blocking an entry
Tick the checkbox next to an entry to disable the blocking of URL matching the pattern, without removing it from the list.
Enabling/Disabling Windows Title Blocking
To toggle Windows Title Blocking on/off:
- Check/uncheck the Windows Title Blocking checkbox in this window.
- You can alternatively right-click on AdvertisingCleaner's traybar icon (in the bottom-right of your screen, next to the system clock) and check/uncheck the Windows Title Blocking option.
- Windows Title Blocking can also be enabled/disabled by pressing a hot-key (this will enable/disable all AdvertisingCleaner's blocking activity).
