Spywares

AdvertisingCleaner can protect you from the type of applications commonly referred to as "spyware". These programs usually run hidden in memory, collecting data from your computer and sending it in the background via the Internet to their servers. Collected information ranges from email addresses to your browsing habits, visited sites or other personal info. Spyware programs may also attempt downloading and installing small applications, take over your browser, open web pages or display ads without your consent.

If you want to allow a program in the list to run, leave the checkbox next to the name of its executable file unchecked.

Enabling/Disabling Spyware Blocking

To toggle Spyware Blocking on/off:

• Check/uncheck the Spyware Blocking checkbox in this window.
• You can alternatively right-click on AdvertisingCleaner's traybar icon (in the bottom-right of your screen, next to the system clock) and check/uncheck the Spyware Blocking option.
• Spyware Blocking can also be enabled/disabled by pressing a hot-key (this will enable/disable all AdvertisingCleaner's blocking activity).
