Hot Keys

You can use hot keys to call certain functions of AdvertisingCleaner while it is running in the background. (a broom-shaped icon in the tray area will indicate you that AdvertisingCleaner is running - a red cross is
displayed over the icon means that the program is still running, but its blocking activites are currently paused).

Viewing/Editing hot keys

Double-click the AdvertisingCleaner icon in the tray area (or right-click it and select 'Display AdvertisingCleaner Settings...') to view the main program configuration window. From the left panel, select the 'Hot Keys' entry in the 'Options' menu. A window containing available hot keys and their meaning will be loaded.

Enabling/Disabling AdvertisingCleaner by using a hot key

Select here a hot key you can use to start/pause AdvertisingCleaner's blocking activity. Pressing this hot key will have the same result as right-clicking the icon of the program in the tray area and selecting selecting the "Enable AdvertisingCleaner" / "Disable AdvertisingCleaner" options.

Emergency hot key

• Pressing this hot key will determine all instances of Internet Explorer to be closed immediately. This is often required when:
• Malicious scripts re-open one or more new windows whenever you try to close the current window.
• A suspect activity runs in the background, affecting overall performance - this could often mean a download or upload is performed without your consent.
• You can no longer close browser windows in the usual way.
