1: Start the Program:

Start

Click on the Internet Cleaner entry in the main menu Ashampoo AntiSpyWare 2.

Read the information on the start screen of the Internet Cleaner module carefully.

2: Select the task you would like to perform

 

Start new search

Start searching for unnecessary internet files

 

Adjust settings

If you have more than one browser installed activate the Browser - Profiles and Options in the start screen to change the module settings according to your needs.

 

 

Delete History

The Clear History function is necessary for clearing the entries in the Windows® Explorer and MS® Internet Explorer History folder. These entries are handled very differently from the browser history in Netscape®, Opera® and Mozilla must be cleared separately (see the Options screen for further details). To clear the History just click on this button and confirm the prompt displayed.

3: Perform the the selected task:

To start the selected function use the appropriate button.

The Results screen is displayed automatically when the scan is completed.

Important notes:

Internet Explorer v. 4 or higher required:

Microsoft® Internet Explorer v. 4 or higher is required for the Internet Cleaner module (you will get an error message if you try to start Internet Cleaner without IE 4 or higher installed). This is because many of the Internet functions of Windows® are closely integrated with Internet Explorer and Internet Cleaner needs to access program modules of IE4 or higher to do its work.

Full details are not available for Netscape and Opera and Mozilla:

The Netscape®, Opera® and Mozilla browsers use proprietary database structures to store their cookies, cache, history and other temporary Internet data. It is not currently possible to display detailed listings of the individual items in these databases - you can only choose to delete all their contents together.
