IE-PlugIns_BHOs

The IE BHOs (Internet Explorer Browser Helper Objects) are small programs which can be started automatically when the browser is called. Initially, these files were intended as useful expansion features for the Internet Explorer, however, the security risk they may constitute soon became apparent. BHOs may act as supporters of spyware, adware and hijacker programs, and, for example, record your surfing behavior or display advertising. BHOs often use ActiveX installation programs in order to install themselves. If this option is activated, you have to agree to the installation of BHOs.
